Report: Moving into the Fastlane
- Item #: 000000856
This report, the end result of a 2 ½ year study on refugee upward mobility that explores how refugees have moved up and into the economic Fastlane since resettlement. How long did it take? What were the strategies and structural supports they used to make that move? And what about those refugees who remained in the slow lane? What were the road blocks that stood in their way and how can they be avoided in the future? The findings suggest ways to more efficiently facilitate refugees’ capacities and speed economic integration while simultaneously improving organizational response, eliminating state aid dependency, foster economic development, fill the long-term needs of today’s workforce, and create a more welcoming and empowering environment for newcomers.
